Yes, ECU tuning will void your factory warranty. Modern dealer diagnostic tools can detect that a vehicle has been tuned, even if it's been flashed back to stock. Manufacturers—particularly Audi—have denied warranty claims on unrelated repairs simply because tuning was detected, without needing to prove the modification caused the issue. If your vehicle is still under warranty, tuning is a decision that should be made with full awareness of this reality.

Stage 1 requires no hardware modifications and is calibrated for 91 octane fuel, offering substantial power gains on a completely stock vehicle. Stage 1+ is optimized for 93 octane premium fuel, providing additional power. Stage 2 requires supporting modifications like an intake and intercooler and is calibrated to take full advantage of the improved airflow. Each stage builds on the previous one.

While not strictly required for Stage 1, TCU tuning is highly recommended for DSG vehicles. The stock TCU has torque limits that can restrict your ECU tune's full potential.
